Mai Pen Rai (attitude)

"Mai Pen Rai" means never mind. People said that is a Thai attitude, the attitude to say "mai pen rai" no matter what it is. In my point of view, i often said it as well and it maybe become a "routine saying" of everything we do here.

I often think why dont we just say "Mai dai" which means "can not" instead of Mai pen rai, to be hornest i kinda hate to say "mai dai" to anyone though. Its seem like you breaking people heart when u said that.

"Thailand the land of smile". Remember to use it when you are here.

"If you want to really understand Thai people you must come to grips with the Mai Pen Rai factor. Its not just a phrase its way of life. Literally meaning, it does not matter, it has come to be one of the great definers of the Thai character. Being able to deal with difficult situations, not brooding over material and personal loss and an all-pervading cheerfulness are the hallmarks of Mai Pen Rai. The philosophy of Mai Pen Rai is one of the things that makes Thai unique"
